Ruthie Ravenel - Realtor ®
A Charleston native, Ruthie Ravenel grew up on Broad Street in the heart of the
Holy City. She attended Charleston Day School and Porter Gaud and graduated
from Boston College with a degree in History and International Studies. Ruthie spent
a year abroad in Strasbourg, France studying History and Political Science. After
undergraduate studies, she moved to Park City, Utah to pursue one of her passions,
snow-skiing. During her 4 years in Park City she was involved in developing a new
property management & lodging division at the world famous Deer Valley Resort.
This experienced helped develop a strong appreciation for homeownership and a
keen understanding of protecting real estate assets in a rental environment. Despite
her passion for travel, Ruthie has always loved her hometown and expressed an
interest in real estate from a young age, working at the firm during high school and
In 2011 she returned to Charleston to begin her Real Estate career in earnest, first
serving as Office Manager then assuming the role of Marketing Director of the firm.
Since then Ruthie has developed her marketing skills and sales acumen and now
serves as Sales and Marketing Director of the firm. Her passion for real estate sales
in the context of the Sotheby's International Realty brand is something she shares
with all agents at the firm through her leadership in sales, property promotion,
content marketing, and use of technology.
Ruthie prides herself in providing the highest levels of service to clients in every
price range, and finds joy in assuring a smooth transaction for both buyers and
sellers. In 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 she earned the Realtors of Distinction Award, a top
honor for area realtors. Ruthie is involved with numerous organizations in the
community including the Charleston Library Society, Charleston Symphony
Orchestra, the French Protestant (Huguenot) Church, and serves on the board of the
Historic Rotary Club of Charleston. Her hobbies include snow-skiing, traveling,
tennis, boating, mountain biking, and hiking. She lives in West Ashley with her
husband Chris and son Ethan.
